Finally, the perfect way for young anglers to learn the sport. Taught by patient experts, boys and girls will learn the correct way, the easy way to catch a fish on a fly and have fun doing it! Our privately leased, well-supervised, fish-filled ponds are the ideal place to insure success, and guarantee that they'll start off right and enjoy the game.

We've built the first Flyfishing Camp for kids in the country in the middle of one of The Fly Shop's most famous warm water fisheries a little more than 2 hours north of the San Francisco Bay area or Sacramento. FOUR FUN-FILLED DAYS AND NIGHTS
FOR YOUNG FLYFISHERS

Youngsters will learn fundamental casting skills, flyfishing techniques, and outdoor skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. They'll meet other junior anglers with the same interests, and have a chance to apply all they'll be learning each day, practicing in the fish-filled private waters that are part of this 800-acre private working ranch south of Redding.

Boys and girls will learn to cast a fly properly and safely. They'll be shown the necessary knots, basic entomology, how to read water and understand where to find fish. They'll be given instruction on the proper ways to catch-and -release fish, and they'll learn the underlying conservation philosophies. And they'll have a great time putting it all into practice in a safe, well-supervised environment. The expert staff of The Mel Krieger Kids' Flyfishing Camps have been specially selected for their patience and their talents in working with young flyfishers.

FISHCAMP INCLUDES:

All accommodations and meals, as well as the use of the finest fishing tools available (from Sage, Winston, Scott, Orvis. Loomis, and Redington). Every fly, leader, tippet, rod, reel, and drop of fly floatant is included in the package, as well as the Mel Krieger School Notebook, souvenir caps and tee-shirt.
